Two pivotal ideas that shape Buddhist thought

Over the last 2500 years Buddhism has developed into distinct schools of thought, and many modalities of teaching. However, regardless of school, or teaching methodology; it is the laws of causality, and dependent origination that shape Buddhist thought. It is the students understanding of these laws which provides the framework for understanding the nature of existence, karma, and samsara. Please join Khenpo Karma Gyatso for his first online Dharma teaching, and explore these two fundamentally important ideas.

Who was the Buddha?

Please join Khenpo Karma Gyatso as he looks at the question, Who was the Buddha?" He will offer a breif history of the Buddha, explain the 12 acts of the Buddha, and explore his life. This promises to be interesting regardless of whether you are new to Buddhism, or a long time practitioner.

The First Turning of the Wheel

2500 years ago in a small deer park in North India, Siddhartha Gautama Buddha taught the Dharma for the first time. This first teaching, often referred to as the First turning of the Wheel would change the course of history, philosophy and religion. This fundamental Buddhist teaching is as relevant now as it was the first time it was given. Please join Khenpo Karma Gyatso and explore the Four Noble Truths.
